Profile’s Dr. Michael Robeson Earns Esteemed ASTM International Awards

Profile Products is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael D. Robeson, PE, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI received the Standards Development Award and the Special ServiceAward from Committee D18 on Soil and Rock as part of ASTM International, an international standards development organization.

The Standards Development Award is given to those who create new ASTM standards. Robeson earned the award for development of ASTM Standard Designation D7986 “Standard practice for preparing specimens of hydraulic erosion control products for index property testing.” The Special Service Award is given in recognition of outstanding service to the committee or subcommittee, outstanding contributions to the development of a standard or group of standards and to show appreciation for a specific service.

Robeson, the research and development director with Profile Products, has more than 20 years of experience in hydraulics, erosion and sediment control, soil modification, plant establishment and storm water management. He is currently directing the research and development of Profile’s comprehensive line of products.

Robeson holds doctoral and master’s degrees in Hydraulics with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. Robeson has been an active member of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) since 1998 and he is actively involved in the ASTM International committees on erosion and sediment control as well as geosynthetics. Robeson has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers, articles and technical reports.
