Call it a Three-Peat: Profile Products Wins Third Top Project Award

Profile Products has been recognized by Storm Water Solutions magazine with a Top Storm Water & Erosion Control Projects award for the company’s work on a railway expansion site in California. The Top Project awards recognize remarkable projects in the storm water and erosion control industries that were in the design or construction phase in the past 18 months. This is the third year in a row Profile has taken home the prestigious honor by employing its environmentally friendly solutions on project sites.

The Mid-Coast Transit Corridor project needed to earn a Notice of Termination (NOT) by revegetating the areas along the newly constructed railways. Profile worked with Mid-Coast Transit Constructors (MCTC-JV consisting of Stacy and Witbeck, Herzog, and Skanska), Diversified Landscape Co., Caltrans, and the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) to develop a solution that would revegetate the land with minimal environmental impact and keep all the workers safe along the busy railway. By hydraulically applying ProGanics® Biotic Soil Media and Flexterra® High Performance-Flexible Growth Medium® , the team was able to easily achieve these goals. The site now has over 70 percent cover and is on its way to achieving the NOT once construction is completed in 2022.

“We are honored to share this award with all of the outstanding team members that had a hand in revegetating this site with our environmentally friendly solutions,” said Jim Tanner, CEO of Profile Products. “Railways present unique challenges, especially when trying to keep all workers safe along the active lines. We’re proud to know we were able to assist in getting the job done right and getting everyone home safely.”

Profile was one of 10 companies to earn a 2021 Top Project award. Learn more about the project in a video interview with Gregg Weed, erosion control manager at Diversified Landscape Company, and Paul Manning, environmental compliance officer with Mid-Coast Transit Constructors.
