Profile’s Matt Skinner Earns Designation as Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control

Profile Products is pleased to announce that Matt Skinner, western national sales manager, earned the designation of Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).

“We encourage our employees to continue their education and broaden their knowledge, and Matt eagerly accepted this challenge,” said Marc S. Theisen, M. Sc., CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI, Profile Products vice president of business development and technical services. “Not only is this an honor for Matt, but it also demonstrates that Profile is dedicated to providing our partners with the best-equipped team to assist in developing solutions for their environment.”

Skinner joined Profile in 2016 as a market development manager/regional sales manager. He has over 18 years of experience in consultative sales and project management in erosion control, soil remediation, geosynthetics, engineered plastics and environmental construction. His expertise has been successfully applied on Superfund and mined land reclamation sites, landfills and reservoirs. Skinner is also a regular speaker at conferences, industry events and training sessions. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business psychology from Utah State University and his MBA in organizational strategy from Baylor University.

The CPESC designation recognizes expert knowledge in the principles, practices and legislation of erosion and sediment control. Those with the CPESC certification have demonstrated the ability to observe, evaluate and synthesize information related to Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), erosion and sediment control plans, installation of erosion and sediment control practices and other related activities such as assisting regulators, authoring publications or educating the public.

Profile Products Honors Distributors at Annual Awards Banquet

Profile® Products celebrated the work of several outstanding distributors at its annual awards banquet on February 24 during the International Erosion Control Association Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“Through their hard work, our distributors make the world a better and more beautiful place,” said Wally Butman, vice president of sales for Profile Products. “They are making a tremendous impact on communities all around the world by working to find solutions for difficult erosion control sites. Every year, we see new and creative thinking that energizes the industry.”

This year’s “Project of the Year” award winner is Construction EcoServices for their work on a Hurricane Harvey restoration project in Houston, Texas. After more than 12 feet of water flooded the Buffalo Bayou near Houston’s premier performing arts center, Construction EcoServices employed Profile’s GreenArmor System to reinforce and revegetate the banks of the Bayou. A few months after application, Tropical Storm Imelda once again flooded the site and tested the solution. When the water receded, the slopes were still intact, and the green solution won.

The “Project of the Year” award winner is selected based on the size and scope of the project, the quantity and variety of Engineered Specified Products (ESPs) used, the effort required to write the specifications and the amount and severity of obstacles to overcome.

Additionally, this year’s “Green Project Award” winners — given to the distributor, engineer and contractor who sustain excellence and growth over a period of years, while promoting all of Profile’s product categories — are the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) District 11, Stover Seed and Pacific Restoration Group (PRG) for their work on the North Coast Corridor Project in San Diego, California. PRG applied Profile’s ProGanics® Biotic Soil Media and Flexterra® High Performance-Flexible Growth Medium® on a 5-mile stretch of Interstate 5 as part of an infrastructure improvement project that includes approximately 25 miles of road, rail, bicycle and environmental restoration.
