Flat to Moderate Slopes
A wide range of wood and cellulose hydraulic mulches provide a short-term and cost-effective solution for 3 - 6 months on sites generally <4H:1V. Advanced Fiber Matrices with Thermally Refined® wood fibers are available for longer-term solutions and/or longer slope lengths. ProPlus® Fiber Mulch Amendments can be added to fine tune the solution and deliver exactly the performance each job demands, helping slurries shoot farther, spread more uniformly, and bond to the soil more securely.
Moderate to Steep Slopes
As slope length and gradient increase, water travels at a faster velocity, exerting larger erosive forces on soil. Higher performing products, therefore, are warranted to adequately stabilize the soil. Extreme Slopes and Waterways
Flexible Growth Medium™ (FGM™) have functional longevities of greater than 12 months, and are commonly used to stabilize steep closes (<1H:1V), long slogs, rough slopes, highly erosive soils, and when rainfall is expected within 48 hours of application. The ultimate performer is Flexterra® High Performance-Flexible Growth Medium™ (HP-FGM™). This product is also appropriate for extremely dry conditions. The GreenArmor™ System offers a more aesthetically pleasing and environmentally superior way to protect high-discharge waterways and steep slopes, and can replace more expensive rock or concrete for entryways, water features, even articulated block designs and MSE wall designs. It starts with Futerra® TRM and includes Flexterra HP-FGM infill.
